As we were all sleeping under warm covers last night, the (possibly) final round of snow passed over the farm in silence, leaving its white trail for us to find in the morning.
All was well when we awoke. The fireplace, still working while Spring is on our doorstep, left a few glowing embers to warm the house.
When it was time to care for the animals and give them their breakfast, I noticed Amador's little feed pan was left upright and collected the bit of snow from the overnight storm.
Now, Amador likes to take his time while eating, so we give him his own little pan to himself while pasture buddy Beau chomps away in the trough. While I knocked out as much snow as I could, some still remained in the pan. I fed the boys their grain and left to grab some hay. When I returned, I noticed Amador was able to completely clean out his little pan--snow and all!
Well, I suppose you have to deal with cold lips when you eat so slowly. Don't worry Amador, Spring is just around the corner!
